Dear Saanvi,

Welcome to the course and so glad to see your first recording here! Did you have fun making funny faces with FunnyMouth? Keep up the good work and here are some stars FunnyMouth and Tootly have sent for you ✨✨✨✨✨

Dear Parent,
Welcome to the course. We hope your child is enjoying the learning process and is getting comfortable with the Tootly user interface. Please feel free to ask us any questions in this regard. We’ll do what we can to ensure you are able to continue smoothly.

Saanvi has a good, strong voice. This first exercise is to help kids free up their voices, become conscious to their ‘singing’ (vs talking, shouting) voice and understand the listen-sing mode of learning.

We noticed Saanvi didn’t sound very enthusiastic when singing – she was possibly tired or sleep? at times, this also happens because of posture: ensure to be sitting up when recording.

Secondly, we would encourage Saanvi to FIRST LISTEN and then sing. Listening and singing back with the teacher/ Tootly not only helps the kids with the right pitch and lyrics (without worrying to recreate from memory) but also helps develop the habit of hearing a sound and being able to reproduce it correctly.

You will notice that every video has 2 recording parts – one where the child hears phrase by phrase and sings AFTER it and one where the child can sing on their own. Use both – but don’t skip the first one, especially in the first 3-4 assignments.

Please see our point-wise feedback below:

Confidence and Independence – good
Understanding of the concept or exercise – good
Pitching – good, needs some work
Rhythm – not applicable for this exercise
Overall control (volume, breath etc) – good, needs some work
Pronunciation/ recollection of lyrics – good

Note:
In the first few exercises, to ensure we build pitch accuracy (which comes through listening and trying to imitate the singing), we’d recommend using part of the recording video where the character sings phrase by phrase and the child can listen and sing after it. Don’t worry – and just by following this method, you will see a marked difference in your child’s progress 🙂

In every lesson that needs a recording to be done, you can scroll down and click on the RECORD button there. Scroll up and continue listening and signing with the video as usual. Once down, click STOP recording and download your file with just 1 click. On the submission page, you can attach the relevant file to continue. This way you don’t need a second device for recording. Hope this helps.

Look forward to meeting Saanvi soon. Please book a live meet from your dashboard (instructions will be sent on email too) once the child finishes Day 5.
