Dear Samara,

You’re almost midway through your second course and already learning so many new things. Hope you’re having fun too πŸ™‚
You’ve sung well and Tootly sends some stars for you πŸ’«πŸ’«πŸ’«πŸ’«πŸ’«πŸ’«πŸ’«πŸ’«πŸ’«πŸ’«

Dear Parent,
This song is inspired by the song Doe A Deer from an english movie called Sound of Music. A child singing this song well is a sign that she has befriended the notes now and is able to sing a melody which employs the different exercises she has been learning so far.

From here on you will see how we focus a lot more on the sur and various exercises. These are building a great foundation to learn any song of any language or genre.

Please see our point wise feedback below:
Confidence and Independence – excellent
Understanding of the concept or exercise – good
Singing/ Pitching – good
Rhythm – excellent
Overall control (volume, breath etc) – good
Pronunciation/ recollection of lyrics – excellent

Notes: It is a tough song and we are glad Samara has actually learnt both the lyrics and tune well. We note that there are times when she is able to control her voice a bit more (eg the last line) and her singing sounds much more melodious then, whereas at times (maybe due to her excitement), it sounds a bit like shouting. We’d encourage her to listen back to her recording, maybe try a sweeter (not lower in volume) or calmer rendition and then see which one she likes better. We are pointing out these finer nuances so that the children themselves become sensitive to such aspects πŸ™‚

Look forward to hearing more from Samara and meeting her soon.
