Dear Prapti,
Its wonderful how well you’ve learnt this song and are singing on your own. Here are some starts for you ✡️*️⃣✴️*️⃣✡️

For the purpose of this assignment, we want you to sing with the Tootly track – so you can practice matching your pitch and rhythm to the music as you sing. Please record when you can and email the file to [email protected] for feedback on this assignment 🙂

Look forward to hearing back from you!

Hi Prapti
That’s your first time singing with a track, so well done! Did you enjoy listening to yourself with the music? Here’s some stars for you: ✨✨✨✨✨

Dear Parent,
Singing with a track needs the child to focus and coordinate on various elements and is not at all as easy as it sounds:
a) Matching the rhythm and timing with the track
b) Remembering and pronouncing the lyrics correctly
c) Remembering the tune, when and how the line changes etc.
d) (most importantly) Matching the singing pitch with that of the track

Please see our pointwise feedback below on your child’s performance:
Confidence and Independence – excellent
Understanding of the concept or exercise – excellent
Singing/ Pitching – good, needs some work
Rhythm – excellent
Overall control (volume, breath etc) – excellent
Pronunciation/ recollection of lyrics – excellent

Prapti has done well with the rhythm and line changes. The most difficult aspect of singing with music is ensuring to sing in the same pitch or scale. While Prapti has unconsciously adjusted a bit as she sings, we’d encourage her to do the following to ensure better match with the track.
– first only listen to the track
– also listen to the track as you are singing along (ie, adjust your singing volume so you can also listen in parallel)

This will develop her ability to ‘hear’ the music correctly and also the ability to reproduce a given pitch (whatever it may be). Overall, happy with the progress, keep it up!

Look forward to hear more from Prapti.
