Dear Adwik,

I’m so happy that you are on your way to completing the first course. Great job with starting a new hobby that you will hopefully continue to enjoy and nurture. I see you’ve sung well! Keep up the good work and here are mountains that Tootly sends for you! 🏔️🏔️🏔️

Dear Parent,

This vocal exercise is part of the set that all students of classical music learn. Once the first stage of expanding the voice range, getting stability while singing, and being able to sing with ease in different directions is achieved, students move on to exercises created by jumping notes like these. Think of them like training exercises for their voices.
In this particular song, we are checking a few things: if students can jump and land correctly. Just like coming down a slope, the downward pattern is even more difficult and tests if the students have begun to create mind-maps of the notes.

Adwik has sung this well. Please also see our point-wise feedback below (based on needs work/ good/ excellent):

Confidence and Independence – good
Understanding of the concept or exercise – excellent
Singing/ Pitching – good
Rhythm – good
Overall control (volume, breath etc) – good
Pronunciation/ recollection of lyrics – excellent

Notes: We are glad Adwik has understood and is able to sing this complicated exercise by himself. We’d encourage him now to put some strength and confidence into each note so that it sounds more like a song or performance. Remember Tootly’s balloons? They will help you understand how to use your breath to sing a note well.

You’re in the final stretch of Course 1 – so keep up the pace 🙂
Hope you enjoy the last few lessons of Course 1. Please check details of Course 2 at https://www.tootly.in/courses which will help you take the momentum forward.
